Explore Chinese Cuisine in L.A.
As part of the Los Angeles Times’ inaugural FOOD BOWL this May, E.P.&L.P. will present a 7-course “Year of the Rooster” dinner featuring Chinese classics from E.P.’s Executive Chef Louis Tikaram and BaoHaus’ Edwyn Charles "Eddie” Huang of “Huang’s World” on VICELAND, hosted by the Los Angeles Times’ Deputy Food Editor Jenn Harrison. The dinner will showcase one of the world’s greatest food cultures—almost 5,000 years in the making—in conjunction with CHINAWEEK (May 1-14, 2017), the annual, week-long series designed to bring the most current, relevant information about China and Chinese culture to the Western World via the natural U.S. gateway to China, Los Angeles.
For $100 per person (inclusive of tax and gratuity), diners will be taken on a culinary journey via a cross-selection of Chinese cuisines—including Sichuan, Hunan, Anhui, Fujian, Guangdong (Cantonese), Fujian Zhejiang, and Shandong— that take inspiration from the trio’s (Harris, Tikaram, and Huang) own heritages and extensive travels. Additional dinner highlights include specialty cocktails utilizing Chinese ingredients, as well as the newly famous Panda dumpling dessert from Chengdu Impression in Los Angeles.
